Thoughts on Cancer

Cancer. In 2007, cancer was the cause of 13% of all human deaths worldwide, and 155-180 people per 100,000 in the U.S. will die from cancer (source here). Why is cancer so deadly? Is it even alive? Why haven’t doctors developed a single direct cause for this disease? Why haven’t they found a real cure for cancer? Why isn’t cancer contagious? These are the questions I wish to answer briefly today.

cancerous_cell First, why is cancer so deadly? First of all, cancer is a disease that is caused by the cell’s self destruct gene suffering a mutation, making it so that the cells live forever, unless destroyed by an outside source. Sadly, the immune system of most victims are taking hits from toxins and heavy medals, which also causes cells genetic code to mutate. With the stage set for cancer by a poor lifestyle or a dangerous environment, the cancer begins to spread from a mutated cell. It continues to grow and grow as a tumor, which ends up taking vital oxygen and nutrients out of the victim, starving and suffocating the victim from within.

Why haven’t doctors developed a single cause for the disease? Possibly because the disease has many causes. Besides the ones listed earlier; toxins and chemicals or radiation in the environment, a weak immune system caused by a constant ingestion of sugar and carbohydrates (which break down into sugars), it puts cancer on the table for an individual.

cancer-cure With this in mind, why haven’t doctors developed a real cure for this disease? Yes, doctors have developed “treatments” that only injure the patient and lower their chances of survival to nearly nil, like Chemotherapy, but why hasn’t a real cure been developed? As in, possibly, because there is money involved in the medicating of patients. I’m am NOT saying that all doctors are bad, I know of many good doctors that have been of real help to people, but doctors that want to do everything artificially aren’t helping you. There are natural ways to heal your body of cancer; your body’s immune system has a way of defeating cancer; to take advantage of this, you could detox, eat a healthy diet, and make sure you are taking large doses of Vitamin C, which boosts your immune response. There are other natural ways to treat cancer, that are natural and highly effective. However, effective isn’t always profitable. (Note: No, I do not believe in the priest-class of doctors, whose word you must obey or face the consequences, as in sending the police after you, or suing you, for non-compliance.)

And, last question: Why isn’t cancer contagious? Well, because cancer is caused by mutations and a deadened immune system, and not by an microbe or virus, which means the only way for you to get cancer is for you to suffer the causes of cancer.

So, now you have my little talk on cancer, and you even got to hear my view on doctors. Cancer is not a deadly disease, you have to LET it kill you. Usually, most cancer victims in the U.S. kill themselves through a terrible diet and taking their Chemo. If you have read up to this point, and you have a friend or relative with cancer, here is the message for you: there IS hope for cancer victims! If you are like me and read this because you wanted to learn about cancer, its cause and effect, the statistical death rate and what not, then here is your message: eat well, get your body moving, work your mind, and live clean and true!

  1. Cancer cells grow and divide uncontrollably. Normally when this happens, a cell automatically self-destructs. When the self-destruct system fails (as you mentioned), the cancer begins to spread, because the destruct system is encoded in the DNA so the daughter cancer cells also lack the system.

One reason doctors have trouble curing cancer is that cancer cells look almost the same as regular cells, so anything that kills cancer cells is also likely to also kill the regular cells. There are certain treatments, though, that target the differences between the healthy cells and the cancer cells, so that only the cancer cells are killed. With the advances in genetics, these treatments are becoming more efficient and more common.

One treatment targets the slightly different protein structure which the cancer cells have, and uses special chemicals to kill only those cells but not the others. Another treatment, called chemotherapy, takes advantage of the fact that cancer cells divide more rapidly than regular cells. It damages cells when they divide, so that cancer cells are quickly killed off. Of course, this also kills regular cells when they divide, but not nearly as quickly, which is why it can be an effective way to cure cancer.

The methods you mentioned can prevent cancer, but once cancer has formed they can’t really do anything, because the body cannot easily tell the difference between the cancer cells and the healthy cells. In some cases, when the cancer cells lack a special fingerprint or mark on the outside, “natural killer” cells can target the cancer cells and kill them. However, other types of cancer cells evade the natural killer cells, and are not stopped by the immune system.

    • Thanks for you clarification! Appreciate it! I know, it was a school essay, and that’s all I really had to say. 🙂

      • I guess I should have kept it to myself… you covered everything you needed to cover, and did a good job with it.
